Delivery Terms & Conditions

1. Delivery Inspection

Please ensure that all products are carefully checked at the time of delivery. Any breakages or damages must be clearly stated on the delivery note. This is essential, as all deliveries are insured against damage, and doing so allows for a swift response from our customer service team.

Important:

If you sign for a delivery without noting any damage, we reserve the right to refuse replacements or refunds for any broken items.

In case of damage:

Inspect the delivery thoroughly.
If any items are damaged, mark the delivery note as “damaged” and sign it.
If you have not signed the delivery not “damaged”, we reserve the right to refuse any replacements.
Inform us immediately of any damage.
We may request written confirmation of the issue within 48 hours of delivery.
Take digital photos of the damaged items.
These images are necessary for processing insurance claims and should be sent to us as soon as possible.

If someone else is receiving the delivery on your behalf, they must be fully informed of these conditions.

2. Delivery Company & Site Access
All deliveries are subcontracted to national pallet networks, which operate through central hubs and independent local depots across the country. As a result, Otto Tiles cannot guarantee delivery on a specific date, and cannot be held responsible for late deliveries or any delays or costs resulting from them.
At the time of your order, please inform us of any site restrictions that could affect delivery. Our delivery vehicles are typically large, and any obstructions (e.g., parked cars, narrow roads) should be cleared in advance.
You must notify us of any potential issues, including:

Parking restrictions
Congestion charges
Narrow lanes or roads
Slopes or steep driveways
Height restrictions
Weak or weight-limited bridges

You may be charged for redelivery if we are not informed of these in advance.

We strongly recommend that you do not schedule trades people for installation on the delivery day, as Otto Tiles will not be liable for any costs arising from delayed delivery.

3. Curbside Delivery

Please note that delivery drivers are not permitted to move products inside your property or site. All deliveries are curbside only and will be off-loaded at the nearest suitable point to your address, which may be the roadside.
For orders over 150 sq ft, please be aware that larger pallets and heavier loads may be involved.

Anything you can do to help facilitate a smoother drop-off closer to your property is appreciated.

You (or someone on your behalf) must be present to receive the delivery.
If no one is available, the delivery will not be off-loaded, and additional redelivery charges will apply.

Please ensure all goods are checked upon delivery and that the delivery note is signed appropriately.

We will not accept claims if the delivery note is signed “unchecked.”

4. Pallets & Crates

Your order will typically arrive on pallets or in crates, which are considered part of your delivery.
Otto Tiles is not responsible for removing pallets or crates from your site, unless specifically agreed beforehand.

These are then precision-cut using state-of-the-art waterjet technology, allowing us to create intricate, lace-like patterns and seamless geometric designs with absolute finesse.

But the true luxury lies in the finish. Every piece is hand-assembled and detailed by our skilled artisans using premium-grade epoxy, ensuring flawless inlays and impeccable surface quality. This delicate balance of high-precision machinery and artisanal touch brings our bespoke designs to life—transforming ancient stone into contemporary art. The result: marble tiles that are not only enduring but truly exquisite, designed for spaces that demand timeless beauty and architectural sophistication.

Product and Sample Orders

Despite our close attention to detail and strict packaging standards, breakages can occasionally occur during delivery. For this reason, we strongly recommend ordering at least 15% more tiles than your net area to allow for possible transit damage and any additional cuts required during installation.

Please note that we do not accept liability for damage, delays, or reshipment fees for orders placed without this recommended buffer. All sample orders are limited to four samples per tile. Orders exceeding this limit may be canceled and refunded.

Trade account holders, architects, designers, and other industry professionals are welcome to request up to 5 free samples by emailing us at info@ottotiles.com

Please note that all samples and showroom displays are intended as a general guide only and should not be considered an exact match to your final order. Due to the nature of our handmade, kiln-fired production process, significant color variation can
occur from batch to batch.

Because tiles are handmade to order, and there is typically a time gap between
sampling and purchase, we cannot guarantee that your final order will be from the same kiln batch as your sample. As a result, the color of the tiles you receive may vary from that of the sample.

Yes. You can find detailed installation and maintenance guides on our website. Please ensure your contractor reviews them prior to installation.

Do you offer installation services? 

No, Otto Tiles does not provide installation services. We strongly recommend hiring an experienced professional familiar with handmade tiles.

Do you work with distributors or dealers? 

No, all orders and services are managed directly by Otto Tiles & Design to ensure quality and consistency.

Does Otto offer a trade program?

Yes, we offer a trade program for interior designers, architects, retailers, and contractors.

Interior designers and architects receive a 15% discount on tile.
Retailers and contractors receive a 5% discount on tile.

How do I know I'm buying from Otto Tiles?

Otto Tiles & Design sells directly through three websites:

These are the only websites we operate. If you find our tiles listed for sale anywhere else under our name, that site isn't connected to us, and we aren't able to help with orders placed through it.

A few things worth knowing:

Our tiles are handmade and priced accordingly. If you see them offered at a fraction of our prices, it isn't us.
Every order with us is confirmed by email from an @ottotiles.com address.
If you're ever unsure, email us at info@ottotiles.com before you buy and we'll confirm it for you.

How much overage should I order? 

We recommend ordering at least 15% extra to account for cuts, breakage, or future repairs. Due to color variation between batches, this ensures you have matching tiles if you need more later.

Do you offer free samples?

Yes, we offer up to 5 free samples for interior designers, architects, retailers, and contractors.

How can I order a sample?

The fastest way is to order samples directly through our website. Orders typically ship within 4–10 business days.

How long does it take to deliver samples?

Standard ground shipping takes 4–10 business days.

DELIVERY

Can I change my delivery address or time?

After dispatch, address changes are not guaranteed. If possible, the third-party freight carrier may allow changes starting at $100 per reconsignment.

Will the driver call me upon arrival?

Yes, the freight company will contact you prior to delivery to confirm your time slot.

Do you deliver on weekends?

Standard deliveries are Monday–Friday. Weekend delivery is not available.

Do you ship internationally? 

Yes, we do! For international orders, please email us info@ottotiles.com with your delivery address and the quantity of tiles required, and we’ll provide you with a quote.

What is the delivery time for stock items?

In-stock tiles typically ship within 4–10 business days.

If the tiles are already in transit from our overseas warehouse, the lead time is approximately 6–8 weeks.

If the tiles are scheduled to arrive with an upcoming container, the lead time may be 12–14 weeks.

What happens if I’m not home for delivery? 

Missed appointments can result in re-delivery fees of $300 or more. You are responsible for any associated costs.

RETURNS & TERMS

Can I return or exchange my tiles? 

Otto Tiles does not accept returns on full tile orders to maintain quality control. Please order samples first to confirm suitability. If a return is approved by exception, all return shipping and restocking costs are the buyer’s responsibility.

MARBLE TILES

Are marble tiles suitable for wet areas like showers and bathrooms?

Yes, marble tiles are ideal for wet areas including shower walls, bathroom floors, and backsplashes. A waterproofing membrane must be applied behind the tiles, and tiles must be properly sealed. Squeegee walls and floors after each use to prevent limescale buildup and reseal once a year in wet environments.

Are marble tiles suitable for pools or submerged areas?

No. Marble tiles are not recommended for use inside pools or submerged water features. While they can be used in high-moisture environments like bathrooms or outdoor patios, they are not engineered for long-term exposure to standing water or chlorine, which can stain or degrade the stone.

Can I use Marble Tiles outdoors or over underfloor heating?

Yes. Otto marble tiles are suitable for outdoor surfaces like patios and facades when sealed properly. They’re also compatible with radiant underfloor heating systems—just turn off heating 12 hours before installation, leave a 1/8" (3mm) grout gap, and reactivate the system gradually after curing.

Can I use marble tiles around a fireplace?

Yes. Marble tiles are a great choice for fireplace surrounds and hearths. Their natural durability and heat resistance make them ideal for decorative applications around fireplaces. However, like most decorative tiles, they should not be used inside the firebox, as direct flame may damage the tile

Do marble tiles need to be sealed?

Yes. Marble is a porous natural stone and must be sealed before and after grouting to protect against stains, water absorption, and chemical damage. Otto Tiles recommends: Miracle 511 Porous Plus Sealer

These sealers do not alter the color or finish of the tile. Annual resealing is recommended in high-traffic zones and once per year in wet areas like showers. Always test sealant on a small area first and ensure tiles are clean and dry before application.

Where can I use Otto marble tiles?

Otto marble tiles are highly versatile and suitable for use in both residential and commercial projects. Approved applications include:

Floors and walls

Showers and wet areas

High-traffic commercial spaces

Indoor and outdoor surfaces

With underfloor heating systems

Marble tiles add elegance and natural texture to any space. As with all natural stone, they must be installed and maintained with care to preserve their beauty.
